Mid-Week Lenten Services
Mid-Week Lenten services will be held in the sanctuary on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM. Each service will involve some songs, some meditations, an activity, and a deeper dive discussion of the gospel lesson appointed for each of the Sundays in Lent. Worshipers will be encouraged to share their reflections and prayer concerns. The services will be led by Pastor and Michaela Ross. This is a different format from previous years. Plan on coming out to experience worship in a new way.

First Holy Communion
Pastor Owen wishes to invite any of our young people in Grade Three and up to learn about this very special meal. First Holy Communion classes will begin on Sunday, March 15th at 9:00 AM in the narthex. There will be three sessions. First-timers will learn how Jesus gave us instructions to eat this meal, what the Passover means, and how to receive our Lord’s body. Moms and Dads are welcome to sit in with the kids. The youngsters will receive their first communion on Maundy Thursday, April 2nd at 7:00PM.

Caring for Friends
We met our challenge from Caring for Friends and cooked and delivered FIFTY frozen meals for elderly homebound people in our neighborhood last month. The meals were prepared on a Tuesday morning in the church kitchen. If you’d like to help make meals for next month, please volunteer by contacting Laura Duffield. If you can’t spare a Tuesday morning but would still like to be part of this ministry, you can make meals at home and bring them to church. Talk to Pastor about how you can do this.

Easter Egg Hunt
Faith’s Sunday School is hosting an easter egg hunt on Sunday, March 22nd at 11:30 AM. Right after church the kids can gather on the lawn for some fun and frolic. There will be pictures with the Easter Bunny, snacks, and more (plus a chance for Moms and Dads to have some grownup time!). The event is FREE, but signing up is essential so we’ll know how many kids will be there. If you can’t sign up at church, call Emma at (484) 506-9617 and leave your name and the number of children you’ll be bringing to the hunt.

Kids' Time
Just a reminder Faith has a Kids' Time every Sunday during the 10 o'clock worship. Miss Grace and Miss Emma tell stories to the tiny tots who may not be able to sit comfortably through our liturgy. The kids also do crafts and get a special message from Pastor.

Soup
Soup is back! As we enter into the autumn months and the days start to get colder and shorter, what could be more comfortable than enjoying a nice, warm bowl of home-made soup? Soup is again available for sale after church in the narthex for a modest donation of only $3 per bowl. You’ll be supporting your church and delighting your taste buds at the same time.
Snow Days
We’re now in the dead of winter, and we’re told this winter will see lots of snow. If it should be necessary to cancel worship because of the weather, you will be alerted by a “Calling Post” call as soon as possible. Please let Pastor know if you’ve changed your phone number or deleted your land line. Notices of cancellation will also be posted on the Faith Luther Facebook page and through blanket emails. Please remember: when we can’t get to church, the utility bills still manage to find their way here. Please try to stay current with your offering through these chilly months.
WELCOME! VIRTUAL WORSHIP NEWS:
If you can't make it to church on Sunday morning, we're bringing church to you. We are livestreaming Sunday morning worship at 10 AM on the Faith Luther Facebook page. You can also read the texts of Pastor's sermons by clicking on the "Pastor's Blog" tab on the toolbar. Please remember, too that you can make online donations by clicking on the "GIVE!" button above.

You can also check out videos from our national church body, the ELCA, our Synod, or our congregation below. We usually start our livestream about 10 minutes BEFORE the worship begins, so you can fast forward through the video to hear this week's announcements and experience the previous Sunday's service.

Gospel: John 3:1-17
3 Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews. 2 He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with that person.” 3 Jesus answered him, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can anyone be born after having grown old? Can one enter a second time into the mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. 6 What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not be astonished that I said to you, ‘You must be born from above.’ 8 The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” 9 Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?” 10 Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things?
11 “Very truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know and testify to what we have seen, yet you do not receive our testimony. 12 If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. 14 And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
17 “Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through him.

First Lesson: Genesis 12:1-4a
12 Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. 2 I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”[a]
4 So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

Second Lesson: Romans 4:1-5, 13-17
4 What then are we to say was gained by[a] Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the scripture say? “Abraham believed[b] God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.” 4 Now to one who works, wages are not reckoned as a gift but as something due. 5 But to one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, such faith is reckoned as righteousness.
13 For the promise that he would inherit the world did not come to Abraham or to his descendants through the law but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void. 15 For the law brings wrath, but where there is no law, neither is there transgression.
16 For this reason the promise depends on faith, in order that it may rest on grace, so that it may be guaranteed to all his descendants, not only to the adherents of the law but also to those who share the faith of Abraham (who is the father of all of us, 17 as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”), in the presence of the God in whom he believed,[a] who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.
